An Imp is a supernatural being described in European Mythology similar to a fairy or demon, and are mischievous creatures that enjoy causing trouble for others. The attendants of the Devil are sometimes described as imps, and the term is often synonymous with a small demon.
Appearance
It appears as a humanoid creature with red skin, yellow eyes, angry eyebrows, nipples, a pointy tail and horns. They have brown fur on their waist area and hooves instead of feet. Male imps spawn equipped with Male Imp Wings.
Behavior
It has 100 health points, weights the same as a man and floats on water. It takes damage from fire and get shocked by electricity. They spawn wearing a male imp wings, which gives them the ability to fly. Their punch attack deals 20 of damage.
They are hostile towards objects wielding the holy adjective and most NPCs, with exception of other imps. They will run away from friendly gods (e.g.: god, horace, thor etc), churches, cathedrals and holy water. They protect other imps, evil gods (e.g.: cthulhu, argus, quetzalcoatl etc) and hell. The only food they seem to eat is chocolate cake.
Female Variant
Original Female Variant
In most games, the female imp is based on Scanty Daemon from the anime Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, as part of a dual-reference with the Succubus. She has green hair, and wears a gray, business-like dress, similar to the one worn by Scanty in the anime. She also is equipped with the Female Imp Wings.
In Scribblenauts Showdown, the female imp was redesigned to now have black hair and wear a black swimsuit similar to the one previously worn by the Succubus, which was likely done to remove the reference to Scanty Daemon. This design was also used in the Scribblenauts Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unlimited. However, it strangely was not used in the Mega Pack's version of Scribblenauts Unmasked, with the green-haired version still being used instead.
Trivia
- An early version of the imp can be found in the Scribblenauts files. It's more beastly looking than the final version.
- It can appear in any Scribblenauts Unmasked level, either as a scammer, a giant monster, a monster spawned by a villain, or a portal, but mostly appears when a vehicle with a person inside was floating.
- It can be spawned via the monster gun and the portal.
