Blue Yoshis are small, friendly dinosaurs from the Super Mario franchise. They often allow themselves to be ridden and give rides to the other Mario series protagonists. Yoshis often come in a variety of different colors, with this variety being blue. They appear as Guest Objects in the Wii U and European 3DS versions of Scribblenauts Unlimited.
They have 100 HP and deal 5 HP per hit.
Like other Nintendo guest objects, Blue Yoshis can only be given specified items, cannot have adjectives applied to them, and cannot be edited with the Object Editor.
Behavior
Blue Yoshis behave identically the standard Green Yoshi, except that the Eggs laid by Blue Yoshis have blue spots.
In addition to blue and green, they can also come in several other colors including Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Pink, Black, and White.
Only one Yoshi of each color can exist in a level at a time. Creating a Yoshi while one of the same color is already in the level will destroy the older one. The player can use up to 8 Yoshis simultaneously by using each of the 8 available colors.
Trivia
- Like all colored Yoshis, Blue Yoshis are coded as a completely separate object from the standard Green Yoshis, and are not just Yoshis with the blue adjective.
- This is visible when the player misspells a word in the notebook, as the notebook can directly suggest a Blue Yoshi when correcting them.
- In Super Mario World, Blue Yoshis have the special ability to grow wings and fly when eating a Koopa shell. Additionally, Yoshis of all colors can also collect Wings to be transported into bonus areas and turned into Blue Yoshis. Neither of these behaviors are seen in Scribblenauts, however.
