A Sunfish is a small, freshwater fish of the centrarchidae family, and are only found in lakes and rivers in North America. They are known for their laterally compressed bodies and vibrant colors.

They share the name "Sunfish" with several other fish species, such as the Mola Mola, also known as the Ocean Sunfish, as well as the Opah, also known as the Moonfish. Despite these species being completely unrelated aside from their names, they can still be used as synonyms to spawn the freshwater sunfish.

Trivia

• Notably, despite the freshwater Sunfish being a different species than the Mola Mola, a "Magic Mola Mola", appears in the minigame Getting Fishy! in Scribblenauts Showdown, where it is dressed to fit a theme similar to other fish in the minigame.
  • This is the only true appearance of a Mola Mola in the entire series.
  • Considering the sprite for a Mola Mola already exists, it's unknown why it has not been made a unique object.
