The Merchant is a businessperson who trades in commodities that were produced by others, in order to earn a profit.
Appearance
The merchant has brown skin and gray beard. He is wearing a dastār, a white tunic and orange shoes.
Behavior
They are docile people, preferring to run away when attacked instead of attacking back. They have 50 health points and their punch deals 5 of damage.
They will equip valuable objects, like gold and gems while expressing the 
emotion. They are protective towards markets, becoming hostile if you attack it.

The female variant is very different from her male counterpart. She is wearing a white tunic with a brown belt. She is wearing a head scarf and a bindi on her forehead. She isn't wearing any shoes. |
Trivia
- The merchant was removed in Scribblenauts Showdown and the Mega Pack, where the word merchant and most of it's synonyms spawn a shopkeeper instead.
- The only exception is the "Drill Rig Operator" synonym, which instead spawns a Construction Worker.
