Guide Dogs are dogs trained to help people who are blind, navigating for them and guiding them around obstacles to get them where they need to go. The one see in game is a Golden Retriever.
They have 50 health points, the same amount as a regular person. They are neutral creatures, attacking in self-defense, their bash attack deals 10 points of damage. They are protective towards objects with the blind adjective, becoming hostile if you attack them. Their other behaviors are based on the regular dog.
Behavior
They have 50 health points, normal speed and a bash attack that deals 10 points of damage. Like other other dogs, they will immediately attack cats and postmen when they see them.
They are curious towards hydrants and other dogs, and protective towards puppies and pet houses. They will eat bones, meat and dog food and equip balls.
Unlike other dogs, they are protective towards objects with the blind adjective. They will continue to act upon their other behaviors while protecting a blind person, unlike real Guide Dogs.
Trivia
- The Guide Dogs in Scribblenauts can easily get distracted while protecting a Blind NPC. They can accidentally abandon them while trying to do things like chase balls or investigate Fire Hydrants.
- This is unlike real Guide Dogs, who go through rigorous training to be certified for use in public, requiring them to remain on their best behavior regardless of distractions while they're on duty.
- Despite a synonym for Guide Dog being "Service Dog", a common term used for dogs assisting the disabled in general, the Guide Dog doesn't react at all to people who are Deaf, and no Hearing Dog object exists in the game.
