A Basketball Player is someone who plays the sport Basketball.

Behavior

When spawned, one will originally dribble a basketball. They protect Basketball goals and other items affiliated with basketball. The object they are holding will always have dribbling animation, and will even go through the dribbling movements even an object is taken from him. You are able to replace his object with another portable object. They are also a playable avatar.

Starting in Scribblenauts Unlimited, basketball players no longer spawn with a basketball, and the dribbling animation no longer appears.

Variants

There are six character models for Basketball Player, three of which are male and three of which are female. They appear to be divided into two teams as well, one with red uniforms and one with yellow uniforms.

Trivia

• The design of the yellow jerseys with purple-striped shorts are based on the uniforms of the LA Lakers, one of the most iconic basketball teams in the NBA.
• The original sprite of the Basketball Player has a 1 printed on the Jersey, but starting in Scribblenauts Unlimited the Jersey is usually left blank.
  • In the 3DS and Mobile versions of Unlimited, as well as the 3DS version of Unmasked, the numbers still remain, and appear on all but one of the new variants introduced in Unlimited.
• Basketball players are one of the things a Random object may transform into.
