An Arcade Machine is a large, box-like machine housing an arcade game. Throughout the Scribblenauts series the arcade machine has housed a number of different unique effects when interacted with by the player.
Appearance
In most games, the arcade machine resembles an all-black arcade cabinet, seen from a side view.
The arcade machine was redesigned in Scribblenauts Showdown. It now features a large design on it's side, showcasing a game inside, which depicts a spaceship flying through explosions in space. This redesign is later seen in the Scribblenauts Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unlimited, but strangely the original design with the plain black cabinet is still used in the Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unmasked.
Behavior
Children will interact with this object while expressing the
emotion. Gamers also interact with this object, but expressing the
emotion instead.
It's not suitable to be placed underwater, due to the fact it produces electricity.
Interacting
Scribblenauts
Playing with this object in the original Scribblenauts game only creates a white particle and plays the video game sound effect.
Super and Remix
There is a normal rocket and a red rocket. The big crater was caused by the red rocket
When interacted, a video game will come up. Rockets are constantly coming down, and the player must tap them to blow them up. If a rocket hits the blocks at the bottom, both will blow up. If a rocket manages to go through the barrier, you lose. Once you get enough points, some rockets will change red when they reach the bottom screen. These rockets move much faster. Your score is based off of how many rockets you successfully stop (1 rocket= 1 point.) Your high score is put on your file selection screen. Upon use of the machine, Maxwell will receive the "Break Time" Merit. As of Remix update 2.3, the mini game can be played on this.
Unlimited onwards
The effect of using an Arcade Machine in Scribblenautes Unlimited.
Starting in Scribblenauts Unlimited and continuing in future titles, the game takes on an 8-bit effect, turning the screen pixelated and playing an 8-bit rendition of the title theme.
In the 3DS versions of Unlimited and Unmasked this is different, likely due to hardware limitations, and instead only the 8-bit music plays. This music is notably also heard on the avatar Selection screen for Unlimited's 3DS version.

Trivia
- This object appear on the level Capital City Firehouse from Scribblenauts Unlimited.
- The redesigned arcade machine in Scribblenauts Showdown may be referencing the rocket minigame first appearing in Super Scribblenauts, as the orange-and-black color scheme and the gray rocket seen on the machine are similar to the colors used within the minigame.
- In the 3DS version of Scribblenauts Unlimited, there isn't a pixel effect when interacting with the arcade machine, and instead it only plays the 8-bit music.
